Solo Exhibition Open Call

The opportunity will include an opening reception on Saturday, November 2 from 7-10pm, professional documentation of the installation, and promotion on all TSA LA social media outlets. There will be $500 honorarium and a $1000 exhibition budget to offset the cost of artist’s travel and transportation of artworks.

TSA LA members will work with the artist and make studio visits leading up to the opening of the exhibition, if possible. The artist is required to fully participate in the exhibitions’ installation and attend the opening reception. TSA LA will work with the artist for deinstallation. Early, mid and late-career professional working artists are all eligible although preference will be given to underrepresented voices and work that is less viable in a commercial context. Currently enrolled students are not eligible to apply. Visual artists of all disciplines and geographic locations are encouraged to apply, including those that may be applying from outside the region who would not otherwise have the opportunity to exhibit in LA. Artwork included in the exhibition must be available to stay in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition.The artists will be selected by a panel of TSA LA members based on the quality of their work and commitment to their practice.

SUBMISSION DETAILS:

• IMAGES: 5 JPGs of work OR a combination of two MP4s and up to 3 JPGs may be submitted. We will only review up to 2 video clips so please do not submit more than that. Files must be numbered and named following this naming convention: LastnameFirstname#.JPG for example SimpsonMarge01.JPG. Work must be made in the last 5 years. Size requirements: Images (up to 5MB each), Video (up to 250MB each), Audio (up to 30MB each)

• CV: 1,000 words max must be included in the submission.

• BIO: Please write a short narrative bio to give us some context for your trajectory as an artist.

• PROPOSAL: Please describe your work and what you envision as your solo exhibition. Some things to consider: Why do you want a solo exhibition at TSA•LA? What does this opportunity mean to you? (300 words max).

• Application fee: $30 non-refundable for up to 5 works
