Spring Break 2009 features a new large-scale wall drawing by Phillip Adams. This work encourages the release from our turbulent times: the crushing weight of the impending collapse of the global economy, wars, nuclear proliferation, growth of extremism, climate change, ETCETERA. The doom and gloom scenarios are transformed into rapture and revitalization, which can only be found during Spring Break 2009.

Allow yourself the pleasure of a little release and please join us on Friday, April 3 for the opening of Phillip Adams’ Spring Break 2009.

Adams received his BFA from the University of Georgia and his MFA from the University of Pennsylvania. He has exhibited his work in Philadelphia at Arcadia University Art Gallery, the Galleries at Moore, Tower Gallery, ICA’s Open Video Call, and the Galleries at the University of Pennsylvania. Adams’ work has also been included in exhibitions at the Whole Gallery (Baltimore), Project 4 (Washington DC), Greenhouse Gallery (San Antonio, Texas), and the Healing Arts Centre (Athens, Georgia). His works are included in permanent collections of the Art Bank, DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, Washington DC and the Lyndon House Arts Center, Athens, Georgia. Adams lives and works in Philadelphia.
