PHILADELPHIA - Tiger Strikes Asteroid is pleased to announce the opening of its February exhibition,View From High Places, an installation by Carrie Scanga. Light, weightless, transparent. Carrie Scanga works with the temporality of tracing paper. The spaces she constructs are held together by the folds of paper–transforming through the duration of the exhibition. In View From High Places, Scanga incorporates printmaking—creating a unique marriage of 2D and 3D. Scanga is the recipient of numerous grants and awards including from the Pollock Krasner Foundation, the New York Foundation for the Arts, and the Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation. She has had residencies at the MacDowell Colony, Artspace, and Sculpture Space. Scanga currently lives and works in Maine.
