(Los Angeles)  Tiger Strikes Asteroid presents Screaming Lessons by Caitlin Mullally and Helena Martinez. The installation will consist of documentation, artifacts, and visual displays of a performance that took place through September 6th to November 26th, 2016.

This project is the first collaborative piece between Caitlin Mullally and Helena Martinez. The performance was documented mainly through written forms and personal notes completed by Caitlin Mullally and Helena Martinez. The original documents and objects will be displayed to illustrate the process and experience of the performance, combining all of the acquired skills into one final act. We invite you to experience the exhibition of Screaming Lessons and watch the growth achieved through the performance.

The six week performance of Screaming Lessons was a challenge to sculpt ourselves into stronger, self-assured figures. Our goal was to grow comfortable with expressing our thoughts honestly and articulately. Each week pertains to a specific skill needed to achieve this goal. The weeks focused on the following:

Week 1: SPACE, we allow ourselves to exist and take up space in larger capacities
Week 2: AGGRESSION, we elevate ourselves to reach an equal importance in our interactions with
unwavering confidence
Week 3: PRIVATE VULNERABILITY, we feel and accept our personal thoughts and emotions
Week 4: PUBLIC VULNERABILITY, we expose ourselves to others comfortably and proudly
Week 5: ARTICULATION, we think through our personal thoughts and emotions and understand our own self-expression
Week 6: DELIVERY, we communicate our thoughts and emotions powerfully and self-assuredly
