Tiger Strikes Asteroid Los Angeles is pleased to announce an exhibition of new sculptures by Gerardo Monterrubio. There will be a reception for the artist Saturday, October 12 from 7-10pm.

Gerardo Monterrubio is an LA-based contemporary ceramic artist. Monterrubio uses the forms as vehicles to compose linear and fragmented narratives. He mines imagery from aspects of contemporary society and embeds them with raw, fractured structure in clay.

Gerardo Monterrubio received his BFA from California State University, Long Beach and his MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles. His work is in the collections of such museums as Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Fuller Craft Museum, American Museum of Ceramic Art, and the Craft in America Center. In 2017, Monterrubio’s work was the subject of a solo exhibition at the Craft in America Center (Los Angeles, CA). His work has been included in recent group exhibitions at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, Alabama, Boehm Gallery, Palomar College, San Marcos, CA, and Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale, South Korea
